Shark Week will soon be upon us. How do you plan on celebrating? Are you a traditionalist or do you free style?
Here at our house with start decorating about the middle of June. We start out by putting out our indoor decorations. But soon the project moves outside.

We’re pretty traditional so we celebrate the Twelve Days of Shark Week which culminates on Shark Week Premiere Sunday. Maybe you incorporate these traditions in your home?
- Nightly family reading of Peter Benchley’s “JAWS” with a different family member reading each night after dinner.
-
We don our Shark Apparel. -
We light the Traditional Chum Candle. - Each night each family member (starting with the youngest) picks their favorite Shark Week episode of the past and we all watch it together. In nontraditional households, the reading of “JAWS” is replaced by more episodes.
- We also play “Pin the Shark” with the kids.
- We also exchange Shark Presents.
The Daughter wants a new pair of Shark Crocs. Last year the wife got a sexy Shark Lamp for the bedroom. -
