While you weren’t looking, China went to the Moon.
The fun loving folks at the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) said their robot named “The Jade Rabbit” had phoned home. Touchdown was on 14 December, 2013. After making the quarter of a million mile journey from Earth the six wheeled Jade motored around and sent back snap shots of it’s buddy the lander, the Chinese flag and the scenery. After all that Jade was bushed so it took a nap.
After napping for three days, Jade came to life again. It’s now scouting out locations for a planned Lunar Sneaker Factory.
