Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 65, continues to get treatment for a blood clot in her brain. Her doctors give her a good prognosis for recovery. However, they feel the drug therapy they’re administering is aimed at reducing the clot rather than eliminating it. A statement by her physicians released by the State Department said the clot did not result in a stroke or neurological damage.

“To help dissolve this clot, her medical team began treating the Secretary with blood thinners,” the statement said. “She will be released once the medication dose has been established.”

The diagnosis is a transverse sinus thrombosis,  a clot arising in one of the major veins that drains the brain. It is an uncommon but serious disorder.

“She is lucky being Hillary Clinton and had a follow-up MRI — lucky that her team thought to do it,” said Dr. Brian D. Greenwald, medical director at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Center for Head Injuries. “It could have potentially serious complications. Imagine this vein, where all the cerebral spinal fluid inside the head and spine no longer flows through this area,” he said. “You get a big back up and that itself could cause a stroke. In the long-term … the venous system can’t get the blood out of the brain. It’s like a Lincoln Tunnel back up.”

With continued medication, doctors say there’s a possibility than the clot will dissolve.  There is an equal chance it will calcify or grow.  If it grows it might lead to a mild stroke than will render Clinton with an “Altered Mental State.”

The Obama administration has released a statement voicing concerns on the direction this potential  “Altered Mental State” make take.

“While the president hopes for a full recovery, he is concerned that growth of the clot will lead to wild idealizations of Republican or in the worst case scenario, Conservative values. “

This poses problems for the embattled administration as Clinton has been called as a witness in  the Senate inquiry into the Benghazi debacles . To date, Clinton has been unable to testify because:

• She had a cold.
• That turned into “a stomach virus”. 7 DEC.
• That made her “dehydrated”. 15 DEC.
• Then she “fell“. 15 DEC.
• That gave her a  “concussion“. 24 DEC.
• Then she had a “Canker Sore.” 28 DEC.
• Then the “stomach virus”, “fall” and “concussion” caused a “life threatening blood clot in her brain”. 30 DEC.

But it was in her sinuses at the back of her head and not in her brain and “fairly common”.  Which may or may not dissolve and may or may not present future symptoms. Which may or may not result in “Altered Mental States”.

The White House Press Office released this statement as the administration continues to deal with this crisis:

“As we go forward, all options are on the table.  While we continue to hope for a full recovery, other actions may be taken.  Currently, the favored option is a tragic yet unavoidable car or plane crash.  We’re thinking, ‘Patton’.  The “Nuclear Option” is to reveal personal records of Clinton’s depression stemming from  the crushing defeat of her presidential bid.  This tragically leading to her body being found in Fort Marcy Park.  The apparent victim of a self inflicted gunshot wound from a gun she may or may not have owned, in a manner she may or may not have been physically able to perform.

Senator John Kerry stands in the wings completely qualified to be appointed as Secretary of State as tragedies further shake ups in the Obama Administration continue.

President Clinton has been unavailable for comment.
