Don’t want to donate your Life’s Savings to the casinos? Oh, you have and now want to do something? Go here…
Okay, I lied. Some of these aren’t free but they are dirt cheap.
You can hike, bike, climb on rocks or just drive around. Be careful about the rock climbing, folks plummet to their deaths too often for my taste.
Bonnie Springs/Old Nevada
Five bucks gets you in (7 on weekends). Watch a gun fight. See a hanging. Great family fun. really. Oh…there’s a zoo!
$6 per vehicle or $1 per person, which ever is greater. There are historic buildings that’s a DIY walk around tour. You can fish (with a license). THERE ARE DUCKS! The sign says “Floyd Lamb State Park” but don’t let that confuse you.
The lions lost their job at the MGM casino, so they retired to here.
This really is free. But beware, you can drop a wad o’cash gambling and on the quirky kiosks. Actually kid friendly. Free concerts at night.

Kinda pricey but I think it has bang for the buck.

Really cool and you don’t have to wear your Magic Underwear to get in.
LAS VEGAS NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Right next door to the Fort. DINOSAURS!!!
Then right up the street from the Fort. $12.00 for ages 1 to 99 (they really said that).
It’s great for kids but pretty cool for adults.
It has examples of the dwellings used by Nevadans from the Original Nations up to the folks that built the dam.
Since you’re all way into Henderson, keep driving and visit the Dam. Take the tour that goes INSIDE the Dam. Ask your Dam questions. Get some Dam answers.
Go over the Hump to Pahrump and take a FREE TOUR. Grab a couple of souvenirs to scare the Family.
